Contemporary town garden

Working alongside Anthony Munden Architect in Winchester, we designed the garden in keeping with the high spec glass extension, which would reveal much more of the garden than was previously seen from the house. Beneath a row of tall beech trees, the garden catches the sun at various points in the day. Strong structural and contemporary planting includes low evergreen hedging, pleached trees and yew cube topiary, with a cloud-pruned Ilex taking centrestage outside the kitchen. Softer planting and native trees soften the boundaries and offer colour throughout the year.
