Romsey Abbey Primary School Woodland Garden

The ‘Psalm 23 Garden’ at Romsey Abbey Primary School has settled in beautifully with a magical atmosphere that is naturally restful, full of birdsong and the trickle of water.

This was a monumental effort stemming from a very open-minded headteacher, who included the children’s ideas to create an inspiring and wholesome natural environment for the school. It was made possible by the generous input of local companies and individuals, including parents.

The garden is comprised of dead hedges, log piles, stepping stones, apple trees and hazel, a willow tunnel, woodland chimes, running water, places to sit and chat, space for a whole class, quiet corners and dappled shady seating for lunchtimes.
